Alasdair McLuckie adopts meticulous process to explore mythology, ritual, and re-birth. Using drawing and craft, the work re-invents folklore with a strong formalist aesthetic sensibility and an attention to detail that translates into a dense visually symbolic language that expresses the infinite possibilities of creation. In this demo, he will talk about his glass bead work, and how he uses stretchers in various stages of making the bead work, including to mount the final works. He will also talk about the different experiences of working with square and rectangle orientated works relative to circular ones.
