Mark Chapman, founder of Chapman & Bailey will be demonstrating:

  • All about different stretcher profiles and bracing
  • How to put a stretcher together so it is square
  • Cutting the canvas to size
  • The art of stretching a canvas with and without stretching pliers
  • What are wedges for?
  • Surfaces: The difference between linen and cotton, unsized and primed canvas, the different weights and densities of canvas you can use
  • A brief explanation of surface preparation for raw linen

FREE COLLAGE DEMONSTRATION WITH ALASDAIR MCLUCKIE

SATURDAY 26th May 2018

You are warmly invited to attend a FREE collage demonstration with Melbourne artist, Alasdair McLuckie.

For this demonstration, Alasdair Mcluckie will share some practical tips on collage techniques with you.

Alasdair will take you through a brief overview of his practice and how he employs collage in relation to other making processes. Alasdair will talk to you about the specific materials he uses to make collage, including the sourcing of found materials, different paper qualities, and the incorporation of printed elements. You will gain an insight into the specific process the artist goes through, to use these materials for his collages, such as the editing and collating of material.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Alasdair McLuckie graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne with a Bachelor of Fine Art (Painting) in 2007. He is represented by Murray White Room in Melbourne and Mothers Tankstation in Dublin, and has participated in numerous residency programs throughout Australia as well as in New York.
