Alla Prima
Tonal Painting with Piers Greville
July 11th 10am - 4pm
Learn More
Join award-winning artist Piers Greville for a one-day intensive exploring the expressive Alla Prima technique — painting in a single sitting using tonal values, bold brushwork, and a simplified palette.
This spontaneous, immediate approach prioritises process over perfection — making it ideal for beginners wanting to build a strong technical foundation without reservation, as well as experienced artists eager to break old habits or experiment in a creatively charged, supportive environment.
Through live demonstrations and hands-on practice, you’ll learn how to build strong compositions, harness light and shadow, and develop your own tonal study from a studio still life.
Expect a session that’s thoughtful, practical, and creatively energising.
Piers is a joy to be around & brings clarity, warmth, and generosity to the studio, making this workshop a rewarding experience for artists of all levels.
Baby it’s Cold Outside!
Interiors with Jacqui Stockdale
July 26th 10am - 4pm
Learn More
Back by popular demand! Join Jacqui Stockdale for an enriching Oil Painting Masterclass where you'll explore both foundational and advanced techniques guided by a prolific contemporary artist and passionate teacher.
Jacqui is an award-winning artist with over 25 years of experience, and a generous, intuitive teacher. She brings a genuine warmth to the studio and knows how to meet each student where they’re at.
You will work in front of a rich decorative setting, looking to artists like Pierre Bonnard, James Ensor, Mamma Andersson, and Noel McKenna for inspiration — painters who found poetry in the everyday — and learn how to do the same in your own work. Whether you're just starting out or returning to painting with fresh eyes, this workshop is a chance to slow down, focus on the process, and reconnect with your creativity.
You’ll finish the day with a painting on Stonehenge aluminium composite board panels, to take home — and hopefully a renewed sense of artistic confidence.
This workshop is as much about expression as it is about technique. It's a chance to carve out time for your practice, try something new, and enjoy the company of fellow artists.
