Lascaux Mat Medium
Description:Â Lascaux Mat Mediums are fluid mediums that increase the transparency of colors while enhancing the adhesion of strongly diluted colors. They can be used alone or mixed into Lascaux Acrylic colors to impart gloss, matte, or satin matte sheen to the paint. Lascaux Mat Mediums are transparent, flexible, and have good adhesive properties. All mediums are thinnable with water.
Suitable For:
- Increasing transparency and adhesion of acrylic colors
- Imparting gloss, matte, or satin matte sheen
- Glazes on concrete
- Colorless sizing or primer for canvas and paper
Application Instructions:
- Use alone or mix into Lascaux Acrylic colors.
- For glazes on concrete, pour or dilute with up to a maximum of 10% water.
- Can be tinted with acrylic colors as desired (approximately 5-10%).
- May be used alone as a colorless sizing or primer for canvas and paper.
Additional Information:
- Pure acrylic resin emulsion. Mediums 2 and 3 also contain silicic acid, making them lightfast and age-resistant.
- Lascaux Mat Medium 2 dries to a waterproof matte film and modifies the gloss of Lascaux acrylic colors.
- Due to its relatively large particle size, this medium is not suitable as a colorless matte varnish: the coarse-grained dry surface is not scratch-resistant, and the color appears duller.
